A nessuno piace sentirsi dire che ha ragionato male o che il suo ragionamento ha delle incongruenze. Siamo disposti a farci correggere sull’esecuzione di una tecnica manuale ma non su come abbiamo deciso di sceglierla e su perché essa funzioni. Il ragionamento è parte integrante del nostro lavoro come e forse più di altre capacità tecniche e manuali. Per questo è necessario un allenamento specifico come per ogni nostra altra abilità da acquisire o migliorare. Per questo è fondamentale comprendere e saper riconoscere quali sono i limiti del nostro ragionamento clinico, soprattutto in relazione alla nostra capacità di individuare i nostri pre-giudizi e i nostri errori cognitivi al fine di poterli superare o per minimizzarne gli effetti negativi. Da qui l’importanza di individuare i nostri errori non solo tecnici ma soprattutto logici durante il processo di valutazione e trattamento del paziente.

Cercheremo di parlare insieme di bias, pensiero critico, ragionamento clinico nella speranza di capirci qualcosa in più. Durata: 1 ora e 12 minuti.

No one likes to be told that he has reasoned incorrectly or that his reasoning has inconsistencies. We are willing to be corrected on the execution of a manual technique but not on how we decided to choose it and why it works. Reasoning is as integral to our work as and perhaps more so than other technical and manual skills. This requires specific training as with any of our other skills to be acquired or improved. Therefore, it is crucial to understand and be able to recognize what the limits of our clinical reasoning are, especially in relation to our ability to identify our pre-judgments and cognitive errors in order to be able to overcome them or to minimize their negative effects. Hence the importance of identifying our errors not only technical but especially logical errors during the patient assessment and treatment process.

We will try to talk together about bias, critical thinking, clinical reasoning in the hope of understanding more about it. Duration: 1 hour and 12 minutes.
